"At the heart of Canon's commitment to the world community is the belief that we are building a better world for future generations."
–Yoroku Adachi, President and CEO, Canon U.S.A., Inc.
As a Canon U.S.A. Company, we embrace the corporate philosophy of kyosei—all people, regardless of race, religion or culture, harmoniously living and working together into the future. While Canon takes an approach to business that is socially and environmentally responsible, we also strive to improve our relationships with local communities and increase our respect for the environment.
Below is a broad overview of our Corporate Social Responsibility and environmental initiatives:
Commitment to the Environment
Canon U.S.A. has established The Clean Earth Crew in multiple locations across the U.S., where employees come together to clean up parks or beaches. At times, Canon has donated trees, flowers, and ground cover to help beautify public areas.
Commitment to Children
We collaborate each year in a corporate fundraiser for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). Additionally, the annual Canon Celebrity Golf Challenge raises funds for child recovery programs and awareness.
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is another cause supported by us through team participation in the Walk to Cure Diabetes and corporate donations.
At the holidays, we work with Marine Corps Toys for Tots, among other children’s charities, to collect new toys for those who are less fortunate.
Canon's commitment to the environment and to the world community is an integral part of its management structure, product design, manufacturing, and corporate culture. This commitment will continue to inspire many special corporate programs throughout its family of companies.
